RealVision ENB
skyrim — Mods & Enhancements
RealVision ENB is a high-end ENBSeries preset that dramatically overhauls Skyrim's lighting, color grading, and depth-of-field effects, specifically designed to work with Climates of Tamriel (CoT) and either Realistic Lighting Overhaul (RLO) or Enhanced Lights and FX (ELFX). It replaces the game's flat, washed-out visuals with cinematic contrast, god rays through trees, wet-surface reflections on armor, and a subtle film grain, making dungeons pitch-black without a torch and sunsets look like oil paintings. Players install it for its signature 'photorealistic but still fantasy' look, which is the gold standard for vanilla-plus visuals in Legendary Edition.

🎯 Tips & Tricks
Open your Skyrim directory and edit ENBLocal.ini. Set 'VideoMemorySizeMb' to your GPU's VRAM minus 256 (e.g., 4096 for a 4GB card) — do NOT use the auto-detect, as it often over-allocates and causes stutter. Then set 'EnableFPSLimit=true' and 'FPSLimit=60' to prevent physics glitches above 60 FPS.
In the RealVision download, you'll find separate .esp files for CoT+RLO and CoT+ELFX. Always install the matching .esp AFTER your lighting mods in your load order. For example, in Mod Organizer 2, place 'RealVision_ENB_RLO.esp' after 'Realistic Lighting Overhaul.esp' — otherwise, the ENB's interior fog settings won't apply, making caves too bright.
If you find the depth-of-field effect too blurry during combat, press Shift+Enter to open the ENB GUI, go to 'Effects' tab, and set 'EnableDepthOfField' to false. Alternatively, edit enbseries.ini and set 'EnableDepthOfField=false' under [EFFECT] — this improves visibility in third-person melee fights without losing the color grading.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Black faces or missing textures with RealVision and NPC overhauls like 'Bijin Warmaidens'
RealVision's ENB uses a specific subsurface scattering (SSS) shader that conflicts with custom head meshes. Install the 'RealVision ENB - Face Fix' patch from the mod page, or in enbseries.ini under [SUBSURFACESCATTERING], set 'EnableSubSurfaceScattering=false' if the patch fails. Also ensure your NPC overhaul's .esp loads after RealVision's .esp.
CTD when entering Whiterun with RealVision + Climates of Tamriel + ELFX
This is a known VRAM overload from ELFX's new light sources combined with ENB's high-res reflections. Install 'ELFX - Enhancer' only, not the full ELFX, and in ENBLocal.ini set 'EnableReflectionBumpMap=false' and 'EnableParticleLights=false' to reduce memory. Also add 'ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true' and 'ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true' to prevent crashes.
