Realistic Ragdolls and Force

Realistic Ragdolls and Force (RRF) is a two-part mod: an ESP plugin that reduces the extra 'ragdoll force' applied when enemies die (so they don't fly across the room from a single sword swing), and a mesh replacer that makes corpses bend, twist, and fall with realistic physics—faster gravity, higher friction, and no more ice-like sliding on floors. Players install it to eliminate the comical 'launch into orbit' deaths and get grittier, more grounded combat feedback.

🎯 Tips & Tricks

Tune ragdoll force via console for specific weapons

Open console and type 'setgs fRagdollMinForce 100' and 'setgs fRagdollMaxForce 300' to reduce the base launch force. For powerful weapons like two-handed hammers, set 'fRagdollMaxForce 500' to keep them impactful but not absurd. These are global game settings, so test with a quicksave first.

Fix ragdolls sliding on icy or stone floors

The mod's mesh increases friction, but if you still see sliding, edit the mod's 'ragdoll.nif' in NifSkope: open the file, select the 'BDynamic' node, and set 'Friction' to 1.5 (vanilla is 0.3). Save and replace the file in your Data/meshes/actors/character/ragdoll folder. This is the same fix used for 'Havok' physics issues.

Install with 'Dead Body Collision Fix' for best results

RRF changes corpse physics but doesn't add collision. Download 'Dead Body Collision Fix' (DBCF) and place it AFTER RRF in your load order. This prevents corpses from sinking into floors or walls, which is a common issue when using both RRF and 'Enhanced Blood Textures' (which alters decals).

🔧 Troubleshooting

Incompatible with 'VioLens - A Killmove Mod' causing killmoves to launch NPCs into the sky or ragdolls to stretch.

VioLens overrides the killmove force values. In VioLens MCM, set 'Ragdoll Force' to 'Vanilla' (not 'Modded') and then use RRF's ESP to reduce it. Alternatively, load RRF's ESP AFTER VioLens in your load order (use LOOT) to let RRF's game settings take precedence.

With 'Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul', NPCs that die while in a 'flee' state may ragdoll through walls.

This is a navmesh issue. Install 'Realistic Ragdolls and Force - Immersive Citizens Patch' from Nexus, which adjusts the collision layers for NPCs. If that fails, in console, select the NPC and type 'disable' then 'enable' to reset their physics, but do this only after they're dead.
