Apachii Sky Hair
skyrim β Mods & Enhancements
Apachii Sky Hair adds over 100 new hairstyles for male and female characters across all races (humans, elves, orcs), sourced from Sims 2 and Sims 3 conversions. These are standalone, meaning they don't replace vanilla hair but add new options to the character creation menu and NPCs via leveled lists. Players install it to get more diverse and stylized hair options, and it's a staple for character customization, especially when combined with RaceMenu or ECE.

π― Tips & Tricks
Install ApachiiSkyHair (main), ApachiiSkyHairFemale, and ApachiiSkyHairMale ESPs. In-game, open the console and type 'showracemenu' to change appearance. In the hair selection, scroll to the bottomβApachii hairs appear after vanilla hairs. For RaceMenu, ensure you have 'RaceMenu' mod installed and the 'Hair' tab will list them. If hairs don't appear, check that the BSA files are loaded (use LOOT to sort).
Use xEdit (SSEEdit) to add Apachii hair records to NPCs. Load your mod in xEdit, right-click an NPC, select 'Add' under 'Hair', and choose a form ID from Apachii's ESP (e.g., 'ApachiiHairFemale' record). Alternatively, use the Creation Kit: open the NPC, set 'Hair' to the Apachii hair form, and save. This works best for follower mods.
Many Apachii hairstyles have physics or are long, causing clipping with armor. Use 'Hair Clipping Fix' or 'Improved Closefaced Helmets' mods that add hair-compatible helmet meshes. Alternatively, in Bodyslide or Outfit Studio, you can adjust the helmet's mesh to accommodate hair, but easier is to use a mod like 'Helmet Toggle' to hide helmets when out of combat.
π§ Troubleshooting
Hair appears invisible or missing texture when using with 'RaceMenu' and 'High Poly Head'
This is a texture path issue. Ensure you have the latest ApachiiSkyHair version (v1.6+). In xEdit, check the hair's 'Textures' pathβif it points to 'textures/actors/character/hair/apachii', verify that the BSA contains those files. If using a mod that converts to UNP, reinstall Apachii and choose the 'Original' option. Also, disable 'High Poly Head' if it conflicts with hair slots.
CTD when opening character creation if Apachii is installed with 'Skyrim 202X' texture overhaul
This is a VRAM or load order issue. Move Apachii's ESPs above any texture overhaul in your load order (use LOOT). Also, ensure you have 'SSE Engine Fixes' installed to prevent CTDs from too many hair records. If still crashing, try the 'ApachiiSkyHair_v_1_6_Full' version (not the Lite) and merge the three ESPs using zMerge.
